Lessons from work #1

I’ll thank my company for giving me a chance to actually go out and attend an event today. I had a lot of things on my agenda, a lot of business needs that needed to be addressed but what really justified attending the event was that I got to hear Aman Nath. He is the Founder and Chairman, Neemrana Hotels and was the keynote speaker at the conference (summit).

Now, I have been an audience to people like Harsh C. Mariwala, Founder, Marico; Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman of Microsoft India; Ashish Vidyarthi, Film Actor and several others but Aman’s keynote was one of the best if you were to ask me (maybe because I heard him speak today only). He started by telling the audience how he made the Neemrana hotel when he bought the property which was a ruin for 7 Lakh back in 1986. In fact, is a historian and doesn’t have any formal education in hotel management or in business

Since the summit focused on HR and how to manage people, he shared a few pointers and how he manages the people he employs. He says:

1. There should be no need for hierarchy
2. An individual should be given a chance and shouldn’t be judged by the level and quality of education he/she received
3. Stop telling them you are better than them
4. Make them feel better than they are
5. Talk nicely to people and pay them respect

Now, I don’t want to make this casual post into a knowledge one but I loved the fact that he tried to keep things simple and really shed some light on how important it is to be human again. A great personality and knows how to tell a story.

I am sharing a few photographs that I managed to take

Ek class ki khidki se road ki side dikhta tha, us class ko hum Doon class kehte the. Waha aksar kuch bache khelte the, gaadiyan aati thi aur chali jaati. Main bas waha akela khidki ki taraf baith kar dekha karta tha.

Ab woh din chale gaye hai lekin tab lagta tha ki kab niklunga yaha se aur kab jaunga bahar. Pata nahi aaj kyun achanak mujhe woh din yaad aaya aur woh mere akele baith kar sochne ki adat bhi.

Weekends

Phew! It was a busy weekend. Nah! I wasn’t traveling or taking pictures but had a little bit of emergency here but since all of that is done now I thought how about I pay my blog a visit and write something, you know have a little conversation with people with whom I interact through comments?

So, for a long time I had been planning my weekends- I’d do this and that and this. Well, this time, I thought of trying Netflix (they give one month free in the start) and wanted to catch up on so many shows, one being House of Cards but that couldn’t happen.

Also, I have decided to spend a minimum amount of my time on internet because of the undeniable fact that it is sheer wastage of time and makes you feel bad. More time shall go in reading books, writing stories, practicing calligraphy and also meeting people. People from Delhi here? How about a meet?
Now, before it gets too random I am gonna take my leave and get back to sorting things. Also, time to go offline and live.

And yes, how have you been?

Hits you at the strange time

These days I’ve been looking for inspiration everywhere. I would walk to work and think and wait for some inspiration to hit me but that didn’t really happen.
So this morning I’m walking to office and as I’m about to enter the building I look up and I see this eagle circling just above the building. And that was enough to give me this idea to write something on it, wasn’t exceptional though but it counts. So, I went upstairs and took my pen and found a page and wrote whatever I had in mind. I’ll work on it and might upload it here.

What about you? Did anything similar happened to you recently or ever?

Good to be back

Right, I just have to remind myself that this is a personal blog and I can actually write about anything and everything. I don’t have to put much thought to things here. I will just write here and maybe someone will read it and form an opinion or they will simply ignore it. See that’s the great thing about having a blog like this, you are free to write and post complete random stuff. I write poetry, short stories and what not right here.

So, last say 15 days have been really weird for me, I’ll tell you that I had to undergo a surgery called Septoplasty. So, it is a surgery where the deviated nasal septum is removed( in my case it was removed, a six inch long bone).

Now before the surgery, I was pretty cool since this was my second and I thought this would be less painful than the earlier ones. Oh man, I have never been this wrong in life, this was really uncomfortable. Now I know that I should write a post about the surgery and what to expect and what not and that might actually help people who might be considering going in for this surgery. Super stuffy and an irritated nose and yeah I started bleeding from the nose as well when they removed the packaging from the nose. Had to keep the bandage for a few more days which was painful but not as much as receiving a catheter down your nose(and into your sinus cavity I guess) for suction because believe me that is painful.

I haven’t read a book after the surgery, mainly because my head was throbbing and I had to wipe the blood that usually drained from my nose for a few days after the surgery. Now that is over, my nose continues to heal, my breathing will get better with time and the problem I had will hopefully be solved. I now have no NASAL SEPTUM and no TONSILS.

Plans now is to get back to work and to read and write and breathe more. That was me and my condition, how about you?

Long time

It’s been a long time and I haven’t posted anything on the blog besides a couple of photographs (well this one will have a photograph as well) and I don’t know how many readers and bloggers I’ve lost here. Gone are the days when I would post the poetry and I’d write and post fiction. Gone are the days when I would actually read other people’s blogs.

The reason I’m writing this is simple. I just had nothing to write so why not talk here, why not say what I’ve in mind, after all it’s a personal blog(perks of having a personal blog! Yeah! )

Anyway see this photograph!

It is simple and minimalistic. Damn, I need to start photograph more and keep this hobby of mine alive.

And how have you been?  See ya until next comment or next post. Tada!

This was another casual post. ūüôā

Talk

I don’t have a poem or short story to offer right now but I do have a photograph to post and I will add it after I am done telling you some random things. A lot of things have been moving differently in my life but I guess after everything¬†I am more clear with my thoughts. I continue to figure out a lot of things.
I have written several lines, short (very short) stories on various diaries and on loose papers and I have a tedious task of putting them in order. Gonna procrastinate right now. ūüôā

Okay, here is the photograph. Tell me if you like it and or tell me anyway. About the photograph-
Clicked this in the month of February of 2011. I revisited my old folders and selected a couple of images that I thought I should post.

Hope you people still remember me! Oh you sure do.

Wake up?

For sometime I have only been posting photographs and the last one I posted was on 1st of November.¬† There are reasons for the delays but we are not getting into that right now, pulling¬† your attention on something else- I’ve been scribbling things on pieces of paper whenever I get inspiration and horror and mysteries are the things I wrote. I will post them sometime soon, maybe during the diwali break. For now, I am attaching the photograph I took a few days ago.
Hope you’ll are doing great. I’ve missed blogging. Sorry if you find the photograph over edited. I’ll attach the original version here. Thanks for reading till here.¬† ūüôā
Stay Awesome.
