Bhaag Daud (Race)

The doors open and you exit only to find others walking in the same direction. Some are running but most of them are rushing and wading their way through others.
Suddenly you see that there is an insane rush on the exit gate and you automatically speed up as if it will have a major impact on your life which we all know is a lie.

A villager lady is at the exit gate trying to figure her way out of the gate but she is clueless with the token in her hand. A few of the dressed up people shout on her while a few are giving her advice. She is panicky and drops her token leading to further delays. This continues for some time and after a while, the station is deserted. A pigeon flys by while the other one is looking for food. They walk all over the floor until the next metro arrives and a hoard of people rush towards the exit gate.

Now as you read this, I want you to move along and be fast because the last thing I want is to be late at the exit gate.

Until next time, my friends. Until next time.

Deaths and Depression

It is actually funny to see people react to a celebrity committing suicide.  Everybody is suddenly aware and cares about this issue.

Now, consider me a sadist or anything but that’s not the point I am trying to make here.  It is perfectly okay to sympathize with the death of a star or some one else but what’s more important is that you need to really really see that depression is a serious issue.

I am sad that Chester Bennington, lead singer of the band called Linkin Park committed suicide the other day. The saddest part was that he was depressed and after reading a couple of posts that surfaced online, I once again realized how bad depression is.

Mental health issues are on the rise and with that what we need is more awareness. We need people to be aware of this and how hard it is to live with depression. It is normal for people to become suicidal and get themselves into one corner. That’s what they do when everything goes bleak and you can’t seem to trust yourself.

I cannot define depression for you but it is something that is very very bad. Now stop being an asshole (if you are being one) or insensitive to people around you.  Treat people with respect and try to understand their point of views.

You might not understand depression but what you can do is be good to others and you’ll end up helping many.

We lost one star today but we lose so many each day to depression. Perfectly healthy and happy people are now becoming depressed, people in their early 20s are affected, lives are becoming meaningless, conversations are going away and there is an insane pressure to live up to certain expectations.

If you are depressed, talk to your parents or to your close friends and it might be challenging for them to understand this but seek help.

If you know someone who’s depressed then be nice to them and keep a positive attitude.

I hope this post makes a difference out there in the world. Do not lose the hope. 🙂

A day

I took the metro after some time again today. A ride that I’ve been taking almost on all weekdays for the past two years now.
Everything felt different and I found myself out of place. On getting out of the metro, people started moving fast leaving me behind. There was a rush at the metro gate and I looked around to find some familiar faces but all I got to see were the tensed faces of people. People who were running late, people who weren’t happy and people who were happy. I don’t know for sure, I just saw and tried reading.

Now I’m writing this in the metro and it’s not as full as it usually is because I left a bit early. I have plenty of space to stand and I had planned to read a book but choose to listen to a few songs.

It’s a normal day in the lives of people in Delhi NCR. Welcome to it.

Thanks for reading one of the random and absurdly ending post. Do tell me how you’ve been.
